Building Safer Communities Mini-Grants
ACTS Oregon partners with ODOT’s Transportation Safety Division in offering the Building Safer Communities (BSC) Mini-Grant. BSC Mini-Grants provide up to $5000 in funding to support organizations in creating safer communities throughout Oregon. Mini-Grants are available to schools, government agencies or a non-profit 501(c)(3).

Safe Routes to Schools Action Plan Mini-Grants
ACTS Oregon partners with ODOT’s Transportation Safety Division in offering the Safe Routes to School Action Plan Mini-Grant. Safe Routes to Schools (SRTS) Action Plan Mini-Grants provide up to $3000 in funding to support schools and community organizations in creating the Oregon SRTS Action Plan as the first step for the implementation of a Safe Routes to School program. Mini-Grants are available to schools, government agencies or a non-profit 501(c)(3).

Creswell Safe and Sound

The City of Creswell is a Building Safer Communities Mini-Grant recipient. They are working with the Lane County Sheriff's Office to bring traffic safety presentations to the schools in Creswell.

On April 16th and 17th students, staff and Lane County Deputies presented a powerful presentation on the dangers of impaired driving. The students learned about impairment, distraction & the importance of buckling up as part of the presentation. At the end of the presentation one of the students asked the student body to all buckle up when they are in the car. She shared how she learned that even low speed crashes can have serious results without a seatbelt.

Also in attendance were 3 speakers that have been impacted by DUII crashes in Lane & Douglas Counties. They each spoke to the student body at Creswell High School and told their emotional and powerful stories.
